First time home buyer/builder here. Watch multiple friends and family go through this process with other builders and saw first hand how rough building a home could be. After watching all of these issues first hand, my wife and I were hesitant about attempting to build a home. We swung by multiple different builders before coming to future homes and speaking with Eric about just browsing around. First and foremost, their selection was incredible and we instantly fell in love. Eric and Kenny were so amazing, we started the building process that day, on the spot. Every question or possible hiccup that I've watched other builders struggle with during family and friends builds, Eric any Kenny were transparent and alleviated all stress and made this experience care free. We just moved into our brand new home a few days ago and are loving it. They make building a home easier than any experience I've ever had. The entire process we were kept in the loop with updates and any questions we had were answered timely and took any stress we had away and allowed us to be excited for the entire process. This is the only home builder I will ever recommend to friends and family, or anyone that wants a smooth and transparent experience, lead by a team so professional and friendly that it feels like family. As a first time home buyer, when we first started the process, there was a lot of anxiety and questions about where to begin, what steps to take, and how the entire process worked.

My husband and I walked into Future Homes Hampstead just to take a look around. When we walked in, we were instantly met with kindness from Erick. When we told him we were just looking and not going to purchase anything that day, he just smiled at us and told us whatever and whenever we needed, he would be there. We did end up finding a home we fell in love with that day, too.

Every step of the way Erick and Kenny were there for us. Explaining the steps, processes, and answering ANY questions we had with full transparency. There were a lot of things we opted to pay for out of pocket instead of working into the mortgage, and every step Erick and Kenny would tell us what the best course of action to take would be. They worked with us EXPONENTIALLY in our process from beginning to end. Not once did we feel like we were being pushed or pressured into something. They made sure everything is what WE wanted that fit into our budget. And they took care of almost everything for us!

There were a few bumps in the road, but when those bumps appeared, those guys would reassure us and lay everything out and go through details so we fully understood what was happening and why. They were completely honest and upfront about everything through every step of the way.

We stopped by the Future Homes office in Ocean Isle Beach in December. We are
from Michigan and we are going to relocate to the area. We were introduced to
Chase Johnson. From the very beginning it was obvious that we would be dealing
with a professional who had our best interests at heart. Chase was also very
attentive and patient with our numerous questions. We are in the process of
lining up our financing but we feel very confident about moving forward with
Chase and Future Homes. We really appreciate the customer service.

Future Homes at the Ocean Isle location have been fantastic to work with as we plan our new cottage to be built in 2026. Chase Johnson has been a huge help throughout the process. We have selected the Heartland Cottage that Chase showed us with modifications. Tom Russell incredibly put together our house plan to accommodate all our needs. My husband has a physical disability and the team at Future Homes was able to make our home ADA accessible.
At this point we’ve had to put the project on hold because my husband had to stop working to appeal for disability. Chase is very compassionate, concerned and understanding as we wait for the disability approval. He put us in contact with a Senator he knows to help with the disability application. He has called to check in on us and has kept us encouraged we can get our home built when the financing comes available with the disability approval. Having folks at Future Homes who are patient, professional and kind to support us through this challenge has been very helpful.
Tom Russell has also helped by starting the process with our land, making sure it perked and is ready for our home. He helped us make choices in the design of the home to customize it and keep us in budget. We are confident Future Homes will have our dream cottage built in 2026! Good things are worth waiting for. We highly recommend Future Homes of N.C. if you want a quality modular home as they are the best to work with.

We had a great experience working with Future Homes to build our house. All of the people we interacted with were very professional and hard working, while also being human. Nate kept me well informed on what was going on throughout the process. Brian did a great job helping us design the home. Andy managed the actual construction smoothly and efficiently. (I felt he treated it like it was his own home he was building.) Kenny walked us through the process with kindness and honesty. And as we settle in, Suellen has been great with getting minor fixes taken care of. When you're taking on this large of a project, you want to feel like you're in good hands. And we certainly did every step of the way. Thanks to everyone!

It was our first time designing a home...

Nate was our project manager through all the steps of construction and Kenny was the business contact for the design process who got us started with explaining everything and how the flow would be for us. The whole project took 8 months for us from empty lot to getting the keys...if we can give one word of advice for anyone who wants to design their own home, a) it is an awesome experience and b) be as prepared for the process as you can be. It really helps everything along and the more work you put into it on the front end, helps the timeline tremendously.

They were patient as we flipped designs around, moved this wall this way and that door that way. The fireplace was an awesome addition and the whole design gave us the windows looking over the river at sun rise.....and the front porch looking at the sunset.

The home is exactly what we wanted...we love the house. Nate, Kenny and their entire team (a lot of people were involved), were awesome. We cannot fault any part of the process and overall we had a great experience with them and would absolutely.... recommend to a friend.

Disclosure: I am a professional, large project coordinator, which means I work with contractors and subs all of the time. My experience with Future Homes has been the following:
1. Communication is timely and regular. Your hand will be held the entire time in a way I've never seen;
2. All contracting was very clear - no B.S., no gotcha's;
3. All drawings, prints and renderings were in large pdf format. We saw exactly what we were getting every step of the way. If we didn't like the location of an outlet, cabinet or fixture on a drawing, they would change it and send us a new drawing;
4. Quality of construction: Future Homes partners with a quality, manufactured housing factory. The construction is of excellent quality;
5. Remedy: To err is human. When errors or defects were pointed out, remedy was instant.
Conclusion: Any construction project is stressful. Building your own home compounds the stress. Future Homes takes the edge off of building a home. Thank you Nate, Brian, Kenny, Suellen, et. al. You're the best and should be proud of your achievement!

What a difference a mile makes! Visited “custom Homes” down the road from here and was met with “ YOU CANT LOOK WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT” as well as “ you talk over me and won’t allow me to speak” from the owner of the company. This was after he was trying to tell me what my wife and I wanted was custom! CUSTOM the first word in his business name!!! Lol. Anyhow we drove down the road and found this builder who had a welcoming staff (Nate) who managed to multi task greeting us while serving other customers and invited us to freely without signing waivers or getting the third degree to simply look at the beautiful model homes on their site. My wife and I are excited to work with these fine people when we find our lot. They earned our business!!

Want to say a big thank you to Future Homes! In a little over a year, we were able to go from our first walk-in to the show room to moving into our beautiful new home. Future Homes houses are state of the art and very high quality. The main reason the process was so fantastic was working with Kenny Vollrath. During the sales process, he was patient and walked us through all the options. During construction, he was very responsive and kept us up to date and helped worked through any issues. And not just for the construction of the new house, but for demolition, the permits, the septic, the driveway, etc. They are truly a full-service organization with the staff and contacts to do a great job.
