Modular Home Builder in North & South Carolina

We met with Trey Miller today, and he was awesome! We have watched many of his YouTube videos, as we're interested in a modular home and were immediately drawn to his positive energy and personality. He made us feel welcome and valued. His expertise and guidance was top notch. He explained the whole process of how modular homes are built, all the features, options and what to expect from purchasing a modular home as well as land preparation. As someone who has only ever purchased traditionally built houses, this is all a very new and confusing experience. However, with Trey, we feel more prepared to make an educated decision. We hope to be ready soon and look forward to working with Trey and Future Homes of Ocean Isle.

We stopped by the Future Homes office in Ocean Isle Beach in December. We are
from Michigan and we are going to relocate to the area. We were introduced to
Chase Johnson. From the very beginning it was obvious that we would be dealing
with a professional who had our best interests at heart. Chase was also very

lining up our financing but we feel very confident about moving forward with

Future Homes at the Ocean Isle location have been fantastic to work with as we plan our new cottage to be built in 2026. Chase Johnson has been a huge help throughout the process. We have selected the Heartland Cottage that Chase showed us with modifications. Tom Russell incredibly put together our house plan to accommodate all our needs. My husband has a physical disability and the team at Future Homes was able to make our home ADA accessible.
At this point we’ve had to put the project on hold because my husband had to stop working to appeal for disability. Chase is very compassionate, concerned and understanding as we wait for the disability approval. He put us in contact with a Senator he knows to help with the disability application. He has called to check in on us and has kept us encouraged we can get our home built when the financing comes available with the disability approval. Having folks at Future Homes who are patient, professional and kind to support us through this challenge has been very helpful.
Tom Russell has also helped by starting the process with our land, making sure it perked and is ready for our home. He helped us make choices in the design of the home to customize it and keep us in budget. We are confident Future Homes will have our dream cottage built in 2026! Good things are worth waiting for. Building our "forever" home felt like an overwhelming task until we started working with the amazing team at Future Homes in Ocean Isle Beach. They walked us through each step of the process (from design to financing) and made it an enjoyable experience. We were able to customize a home to fit our goals and could not be more pleased with the outcome! "Going modular" was the best decision we could have made. We stopped in to view the homes they had. We are about 5-6 years out and Tom, the salesman we talked to knew that. He gave us excellent advice on what we should be looking at, how to look at it to make our final decisions down the road. He took his time sitting with us even though they had people walking in that could have been a sale, but never once made us feel like we were a hinderance to him. We believe we have found our forever home with them and we were so very appreciative of all the information Tom gave us. We are looking forward to working with Tom and his team down the road. We had a great experience working with Future Homes to build our house. All of the people we interacted with were very professional and hard working, while also being human. Nate kept me well informed on what was going on throughout the process. Brian did a great job helping us design the home. Andy managed the actual construction smoothly and efficiently. (I felt he treated it like it was his own home he was building.) Kenny walked us through the process with kindness and honesty. And as we settle in, Suellen has been great with getting minor fixes taken care of. When you're taking on this large of a project, you want to feel like you're in good hands. And we certainly did every step of the way. Thanks to everyone!

Southbay Developers, Inc., now Future Homes, finished construction of my home in October 2021. Ken, Keith and Cyndi were all great to work with. The expectations were always clearly discussed and documented. Ken has years of experience as a builder and was always willing to answer my questions and explain next steps. Southbay completed a one year "punch list" where they came out and addressed/repaired anything I found that needed attention. I am very pleased with my home and would definitely use them again. Highly recommend.

It was our first time designing a home...

Nate was our project manager through all the steps of construction and Kenny was the business contact for the design process who got us started with explaining everything and how the flow would be for us. The whole project took 8 months for us from empty lot to getting the keys...if we can give one word of advice for anyone who wants to design their own home, a) it is an awesome experience and b) be as prepared for the process as you can be. It really helps everything along and the more work you put into it on the front end, helps the timeline tremendously.

They were patient as we flipped designs around, moved this wall this way and that door that way. The fireplace was an awesome addition and the whole design gave us the windows looking over the river at sun rise.....and the front porch looking at the sunset.

The home is exactly what we wanted...we love the house. Nate, Kenny and their entire team (a lot of people were involved), were awesome. We cannot fault any part of the process and overall we had a great experience with them and would absolutely.... recommend to a friend.

Disclosure: I am a professional, large project coordinator, which means I work with contractors and subs all of the time. My experience with Future Homes has been the following:
1. Communication is timely and regular. Your hand will be held the entire time in a way I've never seen;
2. All contracting was very clear - no B.S., no gotcha's;
3. All drawings, prints and renderings were in large pdf format. We saw exactly what we were getting every step of the way. If we didn't like the location of an outlet, cabinet or fixture on a drawing, they would change it and send us a new drawing;
4. Quality of construction: Future Homes partners with a quality, manufactured housing factory. The construction is of excellent quality;
5. Remedy: To err is human. When errors or defects were pointed out, remedy was instant.
Conclusion: Any construction project is stressful. Building your own home compounds the stress. Future Homes takes the edge off of building a home. Thank you Nate, Brian, Kenny, Suellen, et. al. You're the best and should be proud of your achievement!
